Why Dodge should advertise at White Castle.
Problem- I am a fast food company (White Castle) and I want car companies to pay me to place advertisements on my drive-thru food wrappers in Middletown. I want to show Dodge that they can get the most out of my money. Your team has been hired to determine which car company to make the “pitch” to with your predictions.
If we wait at the parking lot in white castle we believe we will record more Ford cars passing by than any other brand. We shall run a test to see if this is correct.
In this instance we are to record the numbers of different cars that enter through a White Castle near I-75 in Ohio. In this experiment, you must first have transportation of any kind to the White Castle. Then your job is to merely observe the amount of each brand of vehicle that passes through the drive through or parking lot in the afternoon hours. You must record 150 cars for accurate results. Any amount of time may be taken for the experiment. In our experiment we recorded the number of Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Nissan and BMW cars. After accurately recording your results, you may return to record them in a graph, as shown in the results below.
The largest amount of cars that visited White Castle was Dodge, so our pitch should be directed towards the Dodge company. We could even use Ford as a back-up plan in case Dodge denies our proposal.
In this instance, we were incorrect in predicting Ford to have the most cars pass through. With the data collected it seems most reasonable to propose to Dodge for the advertisement, as mostly their clients are exposed to White Castle services. This would not only help White Castle gain profit but Dodge as well. As this is the most reasonable proposal and the one with mutual benefits we believe it would work for both parties.
Although the project is intended to be as bias- free as possible, sources of bias are almost inevitable. Location may affect the number of cars in richer communities or poorer communities. Days of the week could affect this, during the week more ford cars may go through the drive through. The only way to get 100% accurate results would be to record data from every fast food restaurant, 24-7, 365 days of the year.
